The fifth annual Martial Blade Camp was conducted at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park , Colorado August 17-20, 2007. This event was the most successful and best attended thus far, attracting more than 30 participants from all over the country, as well as campers from Canada and Japan . The curriculum focused on the core concepts of the MBC curriculum and the Counter-Blade Concepts (empty hand defenses against edged weapons) curriculum. It also featured focused training in the combative use of tactical flashlights, joint-locks and throws, and the empty-hand tactics of Damithurt Silat.

During the camp three students successfully tested for proficiency in the MBC system and, along with two other core MBC practitioners, were certified as Associate Instructors of MBC. Their certification is a significant step toward broadening the exposure and availability of MBC instruction. If you are interested in training in the MBC curriculum, contact information for MBC Associate and Affiliate Instructors can be found on the “MBC Instructors” page of this web site.
