Edged-Weapon Self-Defense System Developed by Michael D. JanichMartial Blade Camp is an annual event designed to provide MBC alumni and first-time participants with the opportunity to learn and refine core MBC and Counter-Blade Concepts (CBC) skills in a highly focused format. It also allows participants to explore the skills of Michael Janich’s other personal-defense systems that are rarely taught in public. Martial Blade Camp also provides a unique opportunity to meet and train with other edged-weapon and self-defense enthusiasts, all while enjoying the scenery of the majestic Rocky Mountains.
Attracting participants from all over the United States and many other countries, this event spans four calendar days and includes comprehensive instruction in MBC applications and reflex training drills, instruction in CBC, and training in other selected empty-hand and weapon-based topics. In addition, all participants receive a souvenir package valued at more than $350 that includes a commemorative knife and an embroidered souvenir shirt. Thanks to generous contributions from camp sponsors, camp participants also walk away with thousands of dollars worth of door prizes during the event.
An intense, immersion-based training event, Martial Blade Camp is MBC’s premier training event and the best opportunity to develop highly functional skills in the MBC curriculum in the shortest period of time.
The ninth annual Martial Blade Camp was held August 26-29, 2011 in Estes Park, Colorado. It was by far the largest camp to date, with nearly 60 participants from all over the U.S., Canada, and Venezuela. The camp also marked the addition of one new Fully Certified MBC instructor and three Associate Instructor/Certificate of Proficiency recipients. Congratulations to Rick Wallace (Certified MBC Instructor) and Robert Lemmons, Peter Oliveri, and Kristopher Rhodes (Certificate of Proficiency recipients and Associate Instructors) on their outstanding performance and accomplishments. I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the camp, as well as the official camp sponsors, who generously donated more than $10,000 worth of products to the event. Martial Blade Camp 2012 will be held 24-27 August 2012 at the Inn at Keystone in beautiful Keystone, Colorado. This beautiful AAA-rated three-diamond resort will provide MBC campers with an enhanced level of comfort and provide the event with superior customer-service support.
Keystone is one of Colorado’s premier resort destinations and is located 90 miles west of Denver International Airport. Offering some of the most spectacular scenery in the Rocky Mountain region, it is also home to a wide variety of tourist attractions and activities.
The camp begins with arrival and registration on Friday afternoon. After settling in, there is an orientation and initial training session on Friday evening. Training continues all day Saturday and Sunday from approximately 8:15AM to 8:30PM with regular breaks for rest and meals. The final training session is held on Monday morning and the camp officially concludes around noon. Campers are free to depart early if their travel schedules require.

Please note that lunch and dinner meals are not included in the camp package. A variety of restaurants are available within walking distance of the Inn and every room includes a refrigerator.

Payment of the balance of your camp tuition is due by 15 July 2012. The deadline for cancellations is 1 July 2012. If you register and cancel your registration after 1 July 2012, or if you fail to pay the balance of your tuition by 15 July 2012, your deposit will not be refunded.
Registration applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. Space is limited. Once the camp is full, a standby list will be compiled in the event of any cancellations.
